If you love cars you probably love wheels. A nice set of wheels can really make a car look well. One thing that spoils the look of a wheel is when the centre cap is missing. The centre cap if the piece that snaps on to the centre of the wheel and usually covers the wheel bolts. When it’s missing it’s really obvious and it spoils the look of the wheel. See the image below.

Missing centre cap

For many wheels it is no longer possible to buy replacement centre caps; for example, TSW Stealth, Speedline Alessio, and Fanblades. However, centre caps for these wheels can be replicated using 3D printing technology.

It’s not a simple process though, and that results in a cost factor:

  1. An original centre cap has to be sourced
  2. The design of that centre cap then has to be recreated by a skilled computer aided design (CAD) technician
  3. The design then has to be paired with a high quality 3D printer and printing material
  4. The printing process itself takes several hours

The results are fantastic – a very high quality and durable replica! See images below.

NI 3D Print produce and stock a number of rare centre caps, and we are ready to copy and reproduce others. So, if you need a rare centre cap get in touch!
